Ten years have unfolded since Sakamoto and I first collaborated on the interactive multi-media project "TV War" for the 1985 Tsukuba Science Expositon. During this time,technology advanced so much it changed the way we understand and experience the world, even the way we see and hear things. After "TV War", both of us continued to explore in our own work ways in which art, man and technology interface.

Eversince TV War, Sakamoto and I often talked about doing another interactive multi-media project together. We wanted to make a work where technology was the feeling and expression and not just the tool to do something else. And these thoughts sparked D&L '95 to happen.

Our D&L '95 project is a result of our belief that as artists it is our duty to pass on to society what we have learned throughout our career so far about man and technology becoming one.

I would also like to take this opporunity to thank all those that helped to make this project come true.
