fragments is a performance set on the stage of ST/LL, a theatrical piece by Shiro Takatani. On the stage is a thin layer of water. Sakamoto's instruments, such as a piano, guitar, synths, and percussion, including a large pane of glass, sit in the water. As Sakamoto performs music on this stage, a video camera captures and projects the ripples of water created as he moves around the stage.
