async–immersion 2023 is a site-specific immersive sound and video installation first exhibited in the basement of the Kyoto Shimbun building, a former newspaper printing plant.
To utilize the enormous space, Sakamoto's 14th solo album, async, was re-mixed to a 6.6.5.2.1.10 channel array (35 speakers) by sound engineer ZAK. Visuals by Shiro Takatani are displayed on 26.4m LED widescreen throughout the old industrial factory.
