| M2/S Announces Casa Tour | ||
|
In anticipation of the August 20th Sony Classical release of Casa, Morelenbaum2/Sakamoto have announced US and European legs of their ongoing world tour. The live installment of Casa gets underway with a two night stand at the legendary Bimbo's 365 Club in San Francisco, and wraps in the US with an unprecedented four night, eight show run at NYC's Joe's Pub. Things get underway in Europe with a return visit to the Royal Festival Hall on September 21st as part of The Song's The Thing. M2/S will be joined by guest musicians Luiz Brasil on violao, and percussionist Marcelo Costa during the tour.
Ryuichi's especially looking forward to getting out on the road to share the Casa experience with all of you, "As I finished my piano solo during the recording of the first track, the sharp sound of a bird calling came through the open window, and it was exactly as if Jobim was laughingly saying to me, ironically, 'Hey, Sakamoto, that's my piano. Play it tenderly.' When Paula Morelenbaum told this story to Jobim's widow, Ana, in New York, she got goose bumps. During this tour, I hope we can recreate this type of atmosphere so the audience can feel exactly what this whole experience was like for us." A complete M2/S tour schedule is available online at POLLSTAR.com |

| Derrida Gets Props in the Press | ||
| The glowing reviews of the "Derrida" premiere
at Sundance continue to roll in. Here's what Rolling Stone & the Village Voice had to
say "...these choices seem tame compared with Derrida, a potent and profound investigation into the philosophy of French deconstructionist Jacques Derrida, which won nothing." -- Rolling Stone Magazine "One of the most skillful docs at Sundance doubled as a philosophical experiment in portraiture. Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering Kofman's DERRIDA avoids a deconstruction primer, instead positioning itself as a powerful demonstration of the French thinker's theories...." --Village Voice For links to more reviews, please visit www.derridathemovie.com |

for digging;" the spring, "Drink the water of the spring with hope and joy. Its
water will cure the ills of your bodies and your minds;" and a horrible nuclear
disaster known simply as Chernobyl, "I remember that day...it was April 26, 1986. I'd
been planting potatoes. It started as I was coming back to the house. There was a strong
wind blowing. The sky turned an orange color...In a contaminated village, on land that
