Live Webcast from the 34th Montreux Jazz Festival
Well not quite live, but as soon as the good folks at Montreux Jazz Festival can get it online, you can see Ryuichi Sakamoto's first performance from the legendary festival along with special guests Sharyn Chimedtseye (Mongolian Long Songstress extraordinaire), Jaques Morelenbaum (Cello), Sonia Slany (violin), and some crazy dj who keeps following us around. The performance takes place live from Montreux, Switzerland on Sunday, July 9th at 900 PM in Miles Davis Hall. Check www.montreuxjazz.com and the "live" listings after show time!

Exclusive Sakamoto Downloads Available
When it came time to release BTTB, Sony Classical was faced with an interesting problem - too much great material! Unfortunately, there wasn't enough room to include everything on the release, so several songs have never been available outside of Japan...until now. For a limited time you can download "Distant Echo" and "Sonata," two previously unreleased (outside of Japan) tracks from the BTTB recording sessions at TowerRecords.com.

BTTB and Cinemage Release Dates Announced
BTTB and Cinemage to be Released Simultaneously on Sony Classical.

BTTB has already produced a #1 single that sold over 1 million copies in Japan alone, and has been named one of the 10 most significant releases of 1999 in Japan by Billboard. Now the rest of the world will get a chance to experience the magic of these 16 solo piano compositions.

As described in the album's liner notes, "Cinemage. It is an intriguing syncretism and the ideal title for this album, a collection of pieces that Ryuichi Sakamoto composed mostly as aural accompaniment to visual events - but that exist on their own as pure music, evocative and compelling without any external program." Cinemage features a recently recorded version of "Forbidden Colours" with vocals by David Sylvian.

BTTB and Cinemage hit stores in Europe in January 2000, and the US on February 8, 2000.
