|Mad Props to our Friends in Osaka|
Ryuichi, Christian, Skuli, Steve, Keigo, and all of the crew would like to send thanks to all of the fans in Osaka tonight who did not want to leave as early as expected.
After the second encore and a curtain call tonight, with the audience showing no signs of accepting anything less than a third encore, it was quite a scramble to account for all the band members. Ryuichi was the first to be rescued from the espresso machine (mid-pour), and take the stage for "Tong Poo," and about mid-song the rest of the band was found in various parts of the backstage area to join Ryuichi on stage in tribute to what was the audience that refused to leave!
You rock Osaka!
|Sakamoto & Crew Alter Typhoon Path|
As the days roll on, the newly formed Ryuichi Sakamoto JAPANTOUR2005 band consisting of Chrisitan Fennesz, Skuli Sverrisson, Steve Jansen, and Keigo Oyamada continue to amaze. Tonight, in addition to their usual pursuit of musical bliss, the group managed to turn the tides on the impending typhoon heading for Tokyo, and leave all in attendance with no worries...other than where to ditch their umbrellas of course!
Other than weather pattern alteration, tonight's Tokyo audience enjoyed:
1. Loud & Clear
2. Behind the Mask
3. Tibetan Dance
4. Thousand Knives
6. Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence
7. A Flower is not a Flower
8. Seven Samurai - ending theme
11. Riot in Lagos
12. Happy End
15. The End of Europe
16. War & Peace
17. World Citizen (I won't be Disappointed)
Sick, yes friends, it was indeed one of the sickest sets Tokyo has witnessed in some time. No worries, because we're pretty sure we saw many very large cameras in the house, which can only mean one thing....more details to follow!
CD Signing July 27th at Tower Shibuya, and then on to Osaka.....
