Sakamoto Celebrates Bertolucci at Futuro Presente Festival | ||
Effetto Bertolucci Rovereto, Italy May 3rd to 12th 2007 with Bernardo Bertolucci Ryuichi Sakamoto, Gato Barbieri Eva Green, Louis Garrel and many other guests The extraordinary artistic personality of Bernardo Bertolucci will be the focus of the third edition of Futuro Presente Festival, which will take place in Rovereto from 3rd to 12th of May, 2007 under the name Effetto Bertolucci. Futuro Presente is a Festival of Contemporary Arts focusing every year on the work of a great Artist whose research, from a clearly defined artistic discipline, widens towards different forms of expression, organized by the Assessorato alla Cultura della Provincia Autonoma di Trento and Comune di Rovereto, by Incontri Internazionali di Rovereto, Mart Museo d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto, by Nuovo Cineforum di Rovereto and Dissonanze Armoniche. The first two editions were dedicated to choreographer Merce Cunningham and composer Philip Glass respectively, this year the spotlights are on one of today's greatest directors, a real poet of cinema, able to communicate with images a wide range of emotions, to tell stories starting from reality reaching the depth of human soul. In Rovereto, Bernardo Bertolucci's work will be observed from different points of view, offering the audience entertainment and reflection. The complete retrospective of Bertolucci's movies along with concerts of musicians linked with his cinema and meetings with actors, critics, cinema's scholars and the director himself. Futuro Presente: Effetto Bertolucci will begin on Thursday May 3rd with the exclusive concert of Ryuichi Sakamoto. A meeting with the music critic Enzo Gentile will open the evening. After the concert the screening of The Last Emperor, whose soundtrack - composed by the Sakamoto - won the Oscar. The concert will also contain musical excerpts from Little Buddha and The Sheltering Sky, which will be screened the following day.
